Leadership is not always an innate skill. At AHI, we believe that leadership mindsets and dispositions can be nurtured from a young age, in line with our school values. Our students are given meaningful opportunities to take their first steps on this journey at every stage of their schooling, helping shape the leaders of tomorrow.
Classrooms are well equipped with learning resources and educative toys. There are also specialised rooms such as the Montessori Room for learning purposes.
Leadership development begins early, with primary school students elected to serve on the Student Council. These student leaders play an active role in promoting student wellbeing and creating a positive school environment.
As the representatives of the student voice, they provide feedback that the school considers when planning new student-focused initiatives, such as the development of the School House system. The Student Council also co-organises key school activities throughout the year, including the annual Talent Show and various donation drives.
As student ambassadors, council members represent AHI at official school events such as Open Days, where they interact confidently with prospective families and share their experiences.
Within each House, students can take on leadership roles such as House Captains and Vice-Captains. These student leaders help organise House events, encourage participation in inter-house activities, and promote positive behaviour and values throughout the school.
Through friendly competitions, community-building events, and collaborative challenges, the School House System provides students with ongoing opportunities to practise responsibility, initiative and teamwork—essential qualities of effective future leaders.
