Halloween Celebration 2020
Listen to them – the children of AHI. What spooky yet creative costumes they have. The Jack-o’-lanterns around our campus don’t seem so scary when our students can strike a pose and scare them all! Creature crafts, pumpkin carving, halloween stories, wiggly noodles that resemble the brain – these are just some of the Halloween activity stations that our students enjoyed today.

AHI School Values: Integrity, Empathy, Respect and Humility
Integrity. Empathy. Respect. Humility. These are the four core school values that we hope to instil in each and every student.
Anne Hill International School is not only a place where we strive for academic excellence, but also a place where children begin to understand what it means to be a member of a community. These four pillars are the foundation of our character development. They are weaved into all of our programmes in order for students to learn how they can contribute to society as future leaders of the 21st century.
INTEGRITY
We aim to guide students in developing trust, honesty and principles as they interact with others.
When faced with an issue to do what is beneficial and what is right, integrity is an important aspect of leadership that guides students to make a decision that will gain the trust of their peers. Integrity is a choice we make. It reflects who we are and what we believe in. It also constantly reminds us to assess the impacts of our own action and what it means for others. Academic honesty, ethics and fairness play important roles in upholding integrity at AHI.
EMPATHY
We aim to prepare students as leaders in their community, to understand the needs of others and to show that they care.
Students will learn the importance of listening to what others have to say before they respond. They will also get an opportunity to see how their thoughts and ideas will make others feel. By being kind and mindful to each other, students are able to evaluate the positive outcomes that their behaviour will have among social settings. As a result, students are able to build upon their interpersonal skills.
HUMILITY
We aim to cultivate humble leadership. As students collaborate and interact with others, they learn to appreciate the views that others share. Learning is a life long journey that does not stop with schooling. Humility is a powerful attribute that will allow us to continually strive to do better and learn from others. Self-reflection is an activity that our students will continue to do throughout their school life at AHI in order for them to appreciate personal development.
RESPECT
We aim to help our students understand the importance of showing respect to others in their actions and words.
Treat others like how you want to be treated. This is an old saying but it still applies to today’s context. As global citizens, our students will learn to recognise the importance of diversity and respect other cultures. A respectful attitude – including actions and words – towards difference in perspectives is part of the teamwork experience here at AHI. Even simple gestures such as “thank you” and “please” will help form a healthy learning environment for all.

AHI Reach For the Stars Rock Wall
Anne Hill International School’s latest addition to its District 2 (Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam) campus and outdoor facilities – The “Reach For The Stars” Rock Wall.
Embellished with colourful steps, rock-climbing is a fun way for students to improve their balance, agility and core strength. Besides the physical benefits, it also helps students learn how to focus, problem-solve and conquer new challenges.
Balance
Learning how to balance is an important objective that we hope our students will recognise while they are doing this activity. Acquiring a sense of balance helps students realise their centre of gravity and how they can use this in order to shift their weight appropriately.
Agility
Students will also get the opportunity to improve their hand-eye coordination through rock-climbing. Through repetition of this activity, they will be able to improve their technique and condition their muscles. They will learn how to ascend, descend, grasp and grip in order to keep moving.
Core Strength
Rock climbing is a sport that teaches students to use their core strength in order to climb up the wall in an effective manner. Students will learn not to rely on their arm strength only; it is also important to utilise their lower body.
Focus
Unlike focusing in a classroom setting, rock climbing requires students to actively focus in order to maintain their balance and plan for their next move. It promotes deep concentration, allowing students to apply this to other settings throughout their school life.
Problem-Solve
Rock-climbing is not only a physical activity but also a mental exercise that provides students with a real-life problem: how to reach the top of the wall? Students will experience various ways to climb to the top and ultimately decide what is the best strategy that will conserve their energy, time and effort.
New Challenges
Finally, we hope to slowly introduce our older students to rock-climbing as an activity that will challenge what they have already learned in school. Let’s for aim for new heights not only through books, but also through the environment around us.
A “Fresh” Start to AY 2020 – 2021
Following our motto of “Learn, Grow, Play”, we officially commenced the start of AY 2020 – 2021 by conducting a “Planting Ceremony” at our newly built eco-garden.
The different types of seeds represent the different values – Integrity, Empathy, Respect and Humility – we hope to instil and cultivate in our students. It also highlights the diversity that exists in our community, and that we should all come together to make the world a better place.
We can’t wait to see what grows within this eco-garden, but most importantly, we hope that our children will continue to find joy in their learning and try their best. What you plant now, you will harvest later.
School Reopening Delay Notice
Dear Parents & Families,
This notice is to inform you that due to the safety of our students, parents, teachers and staff, Anne Hill International School has decided to delay its school start date to Monday, 17th August 2020. This is an initiative from the School and not a directive handed down by the relevant authorities. For AHI families, you should have received an email with additional details.
We’ve noted that some of our families have been traveling around Vietnam during the summer break. While there may not be any outbreak in some of the mentioned cities, as you may know, quite a number of COVID-19 patients do not show any symptoms despite being tested positive. For this reason, we want to minimise the risk as much as possible, spend time to prepare the necessary preventive measures and ensure a safe school reopening for all.
Please refer to the updated academic calendar and events at https://annehill.school/key-calendar-date/
We would like to highlight that lessons will resume on 17th August 2020 regardless of the situation. If there are future lockdowns and schools are required to close physically, our teachers and staff have already prepared alternative arrangements for your child’s learning.
Thank you and we seek your kind understanding as we strive towards a safe school reopening for all.
Class of 2020 – AHI Graduation Day
Finally we bid farewell to academic year 2019-2020!
On 17th July 2020, the school community witnessed the graduation of our Kindergarten students who will now start a new chapter in their learning journeys. We are so proud of all of our graduants, and we believe the parents are too! 2020 has been a roller coaster ride for many, but our students have proven that learning does not stop wherever you are. Whenever there is a will, there is a way.
We hope that both parents and children will feel proud of their achievements over the course of their studies at AHI.
Congratulations Class of 2020! You made it despite all the challenges and obstacles thrown at you this year.
A gentle reminder that our last day of school is Friday, 24th July 2020. Anne Hill International School will start its AY 2020-2021 on Monday, August 10th 2020.
